The restaurant has been open to the public since the 1960s, and we warmly welcome our guests.
Ullanlinna marks the start of Helsinki’s very own archipelago. Just a short boat ride away on Liuskasaari is HSS Paviljonki, an iconic island restaurant that’s easy to get to and a great place to relax!
The circular dining room offers unique views of the sea all the way to the Harmaja Lighthouse. The menu features simple, high-quality dishes whose flavors draw on Scandinavian classics and the finest seasonal ingredients. You can see, taste, and feel the essence of the sea!

Petteri Luoto returns to Liuskasaari

Top chef Petteri Luoto, a multiple international award winner, has followed a unique path in his career. Now he is returning to us here in Liuskasaari—the place from which he set out into the world seven years ago. “To the heart of Finnishness,” as he himself puts it.
In the summer of 2026, Petter’s expertise and experience will bring international touches to the plates at HSS Paviljon, complementing the Scandinavian flavors. A warm welcome to you—we promise that our food will be intriguing, distinctive, and always prepared with the utmost care.
History
Completed in 1949 and designed by Runar Finnilä, the building served as one of the venues for the sailing competitions at the Helsinki Olympics. The restaurant’s interior is a magnificent work of art, combining Finnilä’s architecture with Björn Landström’s maritime frescoes and Michael Schilkin’s ceramic works—the windows and terrace offer the city’s finest view of the Harmaja Lighthouse and the horizon.
HSS Paviljonki has closed its doors, and we’d like to thank all our customers for this past season. Unfortunately, fall is here again this year. Starting September 1, HSS Paviljonki’s fall hours are Wed–Fri 4–10 PM and Sat 12 PM–10 PM; the kitchen is open until 9 PM.
